A (quite overdue) celebration!

Some recognitions are worth highlighting >> even if we’re a bit late!!!
Back in 2023, Mariana Silva Artur was named among the 20 Most Influential Women in the European seed sector by Seed World Europe:https://www.seedworld.com/europe/2024/03/07/20-most-influential-women-in-the-eu-seed-sector-in-2023/
And honestly, it still feels just as relevant to celebrate now.
In our group, we see every day what that “influence” really looks like >> not just publications, but the questions being asked, the ideas being pushed, and the way seed biology is being rethought. From desiccation tolerance to how seeds respond to drying, our research keeps opening up new directions (and many late-night questions…).
It’s also about teaching, mentoring, and bringing seed physiology back into focus for a new generation of students and researchers.
So yes (!), this may be a 2023 recognition, but the impact is very much ongoing.
And we’re proud to be part of it 🌱
