'Unravelling the secrets of seed survival'

The main aim of our group is to understand the mechanisms of seed resilience to extreme abiotic stresses.  Our current focus is on investigating the evolution & regulation of mechanisms of desiccation tolerance. We combine experimental physiology, bioinformatics and molecular biology approaches to study multiple aspects of gene evolution and regulation in seeds of model and non-model (crop) species and resurrection plants.

We are part of the Laboratory of Plant Physiology and the Wageningen Seed Science Centre of Wageningen University & Research.
