Evolutionary & molecular bases of survival under drying
Our group aims to uncover the mechanisms that enable seeds to survive extreme dehydration, with a particular focus on desiccation tolerance. Using an integrative approach that combines physiology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics, we investigate the evolution and regulation of desiccation tolerance in seeds as our primary model system. Our ultimate goal is to advance fundamental knowledge of drying mechanisms in plant cells, and contribute to informed translation of these insights to improve plant survival across dry and water-limited states.
