Our group studies the mechanisms that enable plant cells to survive extreme dehydration, with a particular focus on seed desiccation tolerance. Using integrative approaches combining physiology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics, we investigate how desiccation tolerance evolved in plants and how it is regulated during seed maturation. Our aim is to advance fundamental knowledge of desiccation tolerance mechanisms in plant cells and to support the translation of knowledge toward improving plant survival, conservation and resilience under water-limited conditions.
